Our 8th graders were introduced to the master of mystery and suspense—Edgar Allan Poe. A candlelit room set the mood for students to delve into his famous short story: "The Tell-Tale Heart". The narrator's descent into madness and the use of suspense and unreliable narration were highlighted during this engaging lesson.
