Sploosh Day! - Sixth grade
During this semester, our sixth graders read the novel Holes by Louis Sachar independently. As a closing activity, they had the chance to make some of Miss Katherine Barlow's spiced peaches, or Sploosh, following the recipe created by the characters in the novel. This dish is very important, as it keeps two of the main characters, Zero and Stanley, alive during their adventure. We had a great time eating Sploosh and ice cream while analyzing the novel together in the virtual classroom!
Remember the author's advice: “Nothing in life is easy. But that’s no reason to give up. You’ll be surprised what you can accomplish if you set your mind to it. After all, you only have one life, so you should try to make the most of it.”
