For the love of literature,
Our students in Colegio San José got together the night of February 20 to celebrate Edgar Allan Poe. All our gratitude is dedicated to the administration, faculty members, and educators everywhere who embrace the wisdom in Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences. Not everything is taught in a classroom or field; not every knowledge or skill has to be measured in a test or game. Visiting the theater is an enthusiastic and innovative experience that can elevate our overall intellect and sensibility. Education.
In a loving and free environment, we encouraged our students to discover and share their voices. Certainly, magic happened the night of the show: three different actors represented Edgar Allan Poe, and one of them got married and died on stage; the ominous bird of yore majestically imposed its presence. Percussions, Bass, Piano. More intensity was perceived through Joker’s tribute in “The Tell-Tale Heart.” Beauty and elegance mastered the ballroom dance, and even a promposal was improvised. The show was pure magic lived in poetry, music, love, and the inevitable Death.
From sixth-graders to twelfth graders, actors and backstage crew worked passionately for Edgar Allan Poe’s legacy and for you.
Thank you.
